My Why.

I am a millennial born Law Enforcement Officer in South Carolina that has a sub-focus in the Law Enforcement Over-watch/Sniper community. I am first and foremost a servant, I originally pursued my life long dream of serving as an United States Marine an enjoyed every moment of it, but injuries cut that dream short.

I knew I had to find another way to serve, that is what drew me to law enforcement. I have always had a passion for the shooting community since being a youth shooter. My mother taught me how to shoot at a early age, she took me across the country to many training camps put on by The Army Marksmanship Unit and many other organizations. It was during this time that I truly saw the importance of community and learning from each other. ‘‘E Pluribus Unum’’ Out Of Many One.

I was never big in competition or competing, competition has its place and I do it on purpose. But I am only competing with ‘‘me and the me of yesterday’’ as long as I am better then yesterday that is progress and a win in my book. Competition gets you out of your comfort zone/out of the routine. In the law enforcement community there is a saying, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop. I try to keep my training from becoming routine, I try to train with different marksmanship groups to be forced to think and learn in different ways.

The Fundamentals of Marksmanship are just that Fundamental, they don’t change. Gear and methodology changes but the fundamentals are constant. The way a particular course is set up may effect the way you implement your fundamental knowledge in marksmanship.

I am a firearms instructor, Glock Armor, and a Axon Taser instructor. On this platform I am a student, not a trainer. If you have any questions I will do my best to point you in the direction of best trainer’s and instructors I know.

I believe training at places and with people that you wouldn’t ordinarily train with helps to broaden knowledge and build relationships.

I am privileged to work for an agency that allots me time to attend training and sharpen my craft. My Chief W. Palmore has led on many different levels in law enforcement and the military, he truly prides himself in making sure his officers get the training they need. I am very thankfully for that opportunity. But I was trying to find a way to fully use this opportunity and I realized. That when ever I attend a good worthwhile course, it may be helpfully to the law enforcement community if I interview the trainers and review the course at the course completion. In an aim to help officers find out about courses they may have not heard about yet. The birth of Precision-ACTS.
